Young GPs Group
We are a group of young GPs who have recently qualified from the VTS scheme in Southend and wanted an extension to our post-graduate education which we felt was more tailored to the needs of young GPs. The group has expanded over the past 18 months from five to ten people and every year we are welcoming new members to the group.

The group consists of a mixture of salaried, locum and GP principals all within about 3 years of having qualified. Current sessions are now run at the BUPA Wellesley hospital in Southend for a half day every 6 – 8 weeks and consist of consultant speakers as well as providing the opportunity for discussion of other issues that have arisen during work or from reading of medical journals. There is some funding available for speakers but unfortunately, due to the demise of the HPE scheme, there is no funding available for locum costs.
The group is very friendly and looking to recruit further members either directly from those leaving the VTS or any young GP who has recently moved to the area. If anyone is interested and requires any further details please do not hesitate to contact Jon Rouse via e-mail at j.dr@btopenworld.com
